Apparently this blog is now about advertising other people's baby products, but I had a similar idea to this and I just accidentally ran across it today. I think it is such a great idea!

Side Note
This thing looks freakin' amazing! I wonder if mommies are has happy as this one when they're using this little contraption. It would have been great for our trip to Lithuania when we were jammed in a 2 seater row with non-reclining seats right in front of the bathroom so the teenagers on our flight could have the bulk head and access to their gigantic bag of must-haves for the flight they slept through. Still angry at American Airlines for telling us only a certain number of children were allowed in bulk head seats per safety protocol and ultimately found the "children" were teenagers? Um...yes!

Father's Day
Yesterday we ran around all day checking out a Ferrari exhibit at the Long Center, riding the Zilker Zephyr, and taking a tour at Inner Space Cavern for Father's Day. I think Ryter and Vain enjoyed the day. Ryter was a little antsy on the tour of the cave, but finally fell asleep in the pack toward the end and slept the whole hour-long ride home. We had Vain's favorite Papa Murphy's pizza for dinner and Ryter went to sleep early after such an eventful day.
Now we're discussing our newest and biggest news since finding out we were going to have Ryter. We're moving to Wisconsin at the beginning of July. We are beside ourselves with excitement and sadness at the same time. I will miss my family and Austin friends so so much and a part of me is in denial about this huge change, but I know that it is what is good for our family. We will be living with my parents for a while as we get our feet on the ground, we'll me much closer to Vain's parents (Iowa) and sister's family (Toronto) and still just a plane ride away from Amanda (a resident of NYC as of yesterday) and the rest of our family and friends.
More updates as the days go by, but for right now we're working on the house and getting it ready for the new buyers, packing everything we aren't using like winter clothes, and getting our plan of attack ready for Wisconsin.
In Ryter news, he's getting teeth! The two top ones are coming in at the same time. Maybe tomorrow they will break the skin! Right now he doesn't want food so he's throwing it, slapping his hands on the high chair, and grabbing the spoon. He is sleeping though, thank goodness!!!

New Car Seat
We finally made the big leap and graduated to a bigger car seat. Ryter is getting so heavy so it's completely impossible for me to carry him in his little car seat anymore plus his little feet were hanging out. I knew it was pointless to have a car seat that would go up to 30 pounds. How in the world would I ever carry him? He's only 20 now and it's difficult. I think we're really going to love the new seat though. I have some concerns about the sun still because my car just seems to be really bright. I think it's a combination of the windows being really big and that they aren't tinted. The sun is just relentless here and so he's always had a cover on his car seat during the day. Now without the overhead shade like the other car seat, there isn't really any way for me to continue covering him. He'll like it much better because he'll get to look out the window plus he hated being covered anyway. He's going to have to learn to wear sunglasses.
After much debate we decided on the Recaro ProRide. It's nearly impossible to choose one without using it first. I know that after 11 months of using the Chicco KeyFit 30 that we have I wouldn't buy another one, but it's not because of anything I would have known or questioned when I was purchasing my first car seat ever. This is sort of the same situation because I really only have reviews of other people and the advice of my friends. I was immediately ready to purchase one of the Britax seats because of all of the good reviews. Vain was involved in this purchase unlike the original seat though and he was really interested in the Recaro (I think it's because he wants to be a race car driver though). When I read about it people seemed to like it just as much as the Britax some swaying one way or the other. So, considering many people recommended the Britax and others agreed that they were similar I didn't have a problem going with the Recaro.

Lets Go Fishin' and More
Here's Ryter's shirt actually on him. He said he likes it!
So, I caught more sign language on camera. The video is long and probably really annoying because I incessantly repeat the word more in an effort to get him to talk or do the sign, but he says more with his hands (23 sec.) and if you listen closely I think he actually says it too (1:04, 4:46).
Yesterday morning Ryter and I went for a walk and came across this little guy...or girl. I discussed with a friend why this turtle was so far from water. Maybe looking for a new home because his was all dried up, or she may be looking for a place to lay eggs. Well, we ran home to get our turtle catching tools (a plastic recycling bin and a red dust pan) so we could return him to a pond nearby and by the time we got back he had disappeared. We sincerely hope he found a new home!
