A Big Bed for a Big Brother

We've graduated to Stage 2 with the crib.  The side is now off of Ryter's bed and we're working day and night to get him to stay in his bed.  He started climbing out of his crib last week in the morning and it just went from there.  Pretty soon it was nap time that he was climbing out and also at night when it was time for bed.  We decided to take the side off when he bumped his head on the wall or dresser or bed or something.  He came down stairs with pink eyebrow and forehead so we went for it.  I've been dreading this moment because I knew that everything would change and I couldn't imagine it would be for the better.

The first night we spent 2 hours putting him back to bed before he finally crashed around 10 p.m.  The next night he was down by 9:30 and last night by 8:30.  Vain discovered that leaving the room and hoping that he would stay in his bed wasn't working so he stayed in the room in the chair until Ryter fell asleep.  That worked, so we've been doing that every night.  It takes a bit for him to fall asleep, but he doesn't get out of bed so he actually has wind down time that he wasn't getting by constantly getting up and running down the hall.

Mornings are a different story.  He got up at 5:30 yesterday which was so not cool!  Lets just hope as the evenings get better, so do the mornings.
