34 and 35 Weeks

Clearly I'm very behind in blogging again so I've included pictures from a couple of different weeks. I'm actually now at the beginning of my 38th week. Still nothing really happening other than continuous movement from the baby and some discomfort for me. The baby has definitely dropped in the past week because my shirts no longer cover my belly.  I had to get into Vain's clothes yesterday to find something to wear to work. Other than that, I think I'm pretty good and I can definitely make it to week 40 without too much complaining, although I'm just so excited I want the baby to come today!

32 Weeks-Kansas City, Missouri

We went to Kansas City last weekend for Amanda's medical school graduation. We are all so proud! It ended up being a crazy cold weekend-similar to Sedona minus the food poisoning. I, of course as usual, only packed summer clothes because I live in Texas and just can't believe that other people are experiencing cooler temperatures. I checked the weather for the week leading up to the trip and it was sunny and upper 70s. I thought Great! I only have dresses that fit over this bowling ball so it'll be perfect. I also offered to pack Vain's suitcase as well and packed a bunch of t-shirts and shorts and one dressy outfit. He'll only need to dress up for the graduation day and the honors ceremony later that afternoon right? WRONG! Turns out the honors ceremony was the day before-the day we arrived. Sorry Vain, you have to wear the same outfit two days in a row-oops! The pants were too big, the shirt wasn't warm enough, he had no jacket...it was a mess. That evening we ended up running around trying to find a sweatshirt for him and pants for me. Apparently not even Wal-Mart carries long sleeve shirts this time of year in Kansas City. I managed to find a $.97 cent sweater at Gap Maternity, but that got cancelled out by the two pairs of full price pants I had to purchase that I pretty much hate because they have the huge belly stretchy thing-not a fan!

Enough about the clothes. Other than the small amount of time we had to spend outside freezing our butts off moving from hotel to apartment, or taking pictures after the ceremony we had a great weekend! Gram from Hartford was there, plus Grammer and Tracey from Texas and mom, dad, Amanda, Vain, and me.

So, I've made it to 32 weeks successfuly without many complaints. This was the first time my dad and Gram have seen me in person since I told everyone I was pregnant at Thanksgiving when I was only 8 weeks. I'm sure it was a shocker for them. For me and everyone here, its so gradual that I almost feel like I haven't changed at all.

31 Weeks

This is a short one. 31 weeks here and moving along quickly! I've got just a couple of 2-week Dr. appointments left and then every week until the baby comes. The nursery is a disaster and I feel like a hoarder when I open the door to that room, but now that I finally have the mattress for the crib I feel like I have everything and I can really get going on organizing. I've got to get rid of the other bed that's in the room too and that will make it feel much better! The crib finally came and Vain put it together for me when I had to work late last Friday night. Thanks baby! All that's left on Vain's end is to paint the room which will happen Memorial Day weekend because we've got an extra day. My mom made all of the bedding and sent it last week too. Its so adorable! I can't wait for baby bunny to see it!

28 Weeks-Baby Shower

Lets backtrack-

The baby shower that Tina and Kensley threw me in April was so beautiful. My mom and sister flew in for the weekend and got to meet everyone-again. We played games, but my only request was no diaper/candy bar game. Thanks ladies!! The cake was adorable-thanks Michelle! Michelle is a wonderful pastry chef with major versatility! If any of you saw the photos of my bachelorette cake you know exactly what I'm talking about-there were no bunnies that day! The gifts were also great too and I really appreciate everything everyone brought. It will all be used a lot and little baby bunny will appreciate everything! Suzanne also brought tons of clothes from her little guy so if I have a boy, I'm pretty set for the first couple of months. Now its on to organizing everything and making it look pretty in the soon-to-be-finished nursery.

Oh yeah, and this is me at 28 weeks with Stacey. She's about two months ahead of me and actually had her baby boy, Connor, on May 3.

Its Been a Long Time

Well, I have fallen behind and it was to be expected. I fully blame my sister for this one though. I intended to write all about my baby shower and my 28th week at the same time and post a bunch of pictures from that day. Well, we didn't get the photos from her camera while she was here and then I was at the mercy of her sending them to me once she got back home. Well, her internet was down for a while and now she's on vacation so I still don't have pictures although they did get posted on Facebook. So, because of that I didn't write anything about my 30th week either because I was stuck on things being out of order on the blog. Well...whatever, that is all still to come.

So, today is the beginning of my 32nd week. I will have Vain take pictures today for sure and just pick up from this point forward. I'm down to 2-week doctor appointments now instead of every month, but still no action in the doctor's office. I get my weight taken, blood pressure, and belly measurements. Everything stays normal every visit which is wonderful. I passed my glucose test two weeks ago with flying colors which is a relief. The orange drink was not great on an empty stomach though and I fought back the dangerous burps for 2 hours before I could eat.

My belly seems to be changing and growing daily although I'm not to the point quite yet that I can't buckle my shoes, although I do have trouble sometimes. Last week I left the house without shoes because I was too frustrated to deal with it. I don't think the baby ever sleeps because "she" is moving all day long. Last night Vain could see the bumps coming from inside my stomach from across the room. We were watching American Idol and the baby really likes the singing. Every movement that I feel is still really cool even though it happens all day long-rib kicks and all.

So, no pictures today with this post, but I will have some soon.

25 Weeks-Sedona, Arizona

We managed to take a trip to Sedona over the last couple of weeks. Just a long weekend for one of my oldest friend's wedding. Everything was beautiful, couldn't have a more perfect place for a wedding. Thursday we spent the day traveling, meeting some of the girls at the airport, and driving our sweet mini van through the mountains. With the wedding shower, welcome dinner, wedding, and Sunday brunch there was only a little time left for sight seeing. We took a 6-mile hike on Friday-yup, pregnant girl on a 6-mile hike-and climbed up and down the red rocks. I have to say I'm pretty proud of myself because I climbed higher than everyone else in our group. Vain dressed as a bee keeper to avoid a sun burn and the back of Chrissy's legs from the knee down got a pretty sweet sun burn. Funny looking in a short dress, but i don't think anybody noticed.

24 and 26 Weeks

Well, not much has happened in the world of baby since last time I posted other than she/he got bigger. The car seat was delivered a couple of weeks ago, so now I have to figure out how to use the thing. I have a little doll that my niece left behind a couple of years ago so I'm going to practice strapping her in and have Vain practice too so when we leave the hospital for our first drive we look like old pros. April 20 will be my last monthly dr. apt. and then I will start going bi-weekly. Eeeek, it's getting close.

The fabric has been officially chosen for the baby's room and my mom is making the bedding and curtains as we speak. Below is the main bunny fabric and one piece of the furniture.

This week I also received all kinds of neutral baby clothes and other accessories that Lucy gathered from Sky's kiddos in Toronto. For those of you that don't know, Lucy is Vain's mom and Sky is Vain's sister. I don't think I'll need to purchase any clothes, except maybe some pink things after the baby is born...a girl of course. The drawers are almost already full. Thank you!

Here I am at 24 and 26 weeks.
